AIM Fellow Wins Harvard Scholarship
Successful Brisbane business strategist and author, Dr Monique Beedles FAIM, has been awarded the St George Bank Fostering Executive Women (FEW) International Scholarship for the Harvard Business School in Boston, USA.
Sponsored by St George Bank and awarded as part of the FEW program for QUT Business School Alumni, the scholarship provides recipients with the opportunity to attend the Harvard Business School Executive Education program in 2012.
Dr Beedles said the scholarship involved participation in the Women's Leadership Forum: Innovation Strategies for a Changing World.
"The program attracts a dynamic group of senior businesswomen from around the world, from very diverse business backgrounds," Dr Beedles said.
"It's a fantastic opportunity to interact with successful leaders of public and private firms, including business owners, entrepreneurs, corporate officers, and non-profit executives."
With only two scholarships awarded every year, Monique and fellow recipient Natasha Bowe, were selected to attend the prestigious university after undertaking a rigorous interview process, demonstrating their business achievements and leadership abilities.
Fostering Executive Women (FEW) is a postgraduate alumni group founded by Associate Professor Caroline Hatcher and led by leading businesswoman Ann Garms OAM. Drawing from more than 1,000 alumni and the broader Brisbane business community, the group is committed to advancing women in business and leadership in Australia.
Dr Beedles earned her PhD in Business Strategy from QUT and runs her own management consulting practice, Teak Yew. She is involved with a number of boards as Director and Chairman. Dr Beedles is also the author of Pivot Point: making the decisions that matter in business, which was released in early November and is available from Management Books.
