AIM Now Accredited to Deliver PRINCE2® Project Management Training

AIM now offers PRINCE2® Foundation and Practitioner courses as part of its project management training suite.

AIM has become a PRINCE2® Accredited Training Organisation after meeting the rigorous approval process of APMG-International,
joining a select number of accredited providers offering this in-demand training.

PRINCE2® (PRojects IN Controlled Environments) is a project management methodology developed through the Office of Government Commerce in the UK and is practiced in over 150 countries through 20,000 organisations (OGC, 2009). It complements the project management body of knowledge (PMBOK) developed by the Project Management Institute.

AIM CEO Vivienne Anthon FAIM said that securing PRINCE2® accreditation bolsters AIM's project management credentials.

"AIM specialises in the 'management' aspects of project management. Becoming a PRINCE2® Accredited Training Organisation is a
major coup for us, and one that we have been working towards for quite some time," she said.

"Project managers wanting to expand their knowledge base and learn how to apply PRINCE2® would benefit from completing
this qualification through AIM. PRINCE2® is applied in many government departments and agencies, and is growing in its application,
becoming the preferred project management methodology for many large organisations in Australia," Ms Anthon said.

"Only highly capable and accredited project management facilitators can deliver PRINCE2® training. The program has been scheduled
onto the public training calendar throughout 2012 and will also be available for corporate delivery in the coming months," she said.

The PRINCE2® methodology has the following principles at its heart:

  • Continued business justification through the life of the project
  • Defined roles and responsibilities
  • Manage by project stage
  • Manage by exceptio
  • Focus on products
  • Tailor your approach to suit the project environment

AIM will offer a three day Foundation course and two day Practitioner course which can be taken together in a five day block or
separately. Both courses are assessed through an international exam, and participants must pass the Foundation Course exam before
progressing to the Practitioner component.

The Foundation course introduces the structure and key terminology of the PRINCE2® method, and shows the benefits of adopting
PRINCE2® in regards to purpose, objectives and context. The Practitioner course builds on the Foundation course by using a case
study approach to explore the principles of PRINCE2®.

AIM is offering a reduced introductory price for its PRINCE2® courses, with preferential rates for AIM members. For prices or for more information, visit www.aimcourses.com.au or call 1300 882 895.
