Saving the best until last

Management Excellence Awards announced at gala ceremony

The 2012 Management Excellence Awards campaign concluded with a stellar night of celebration in Brisbane last month with AIM senior executives labelling it the most successful campaign in the events' history.

Held at the Sofitel Hotel on Friday 2 November, the gala final attracted a crowd of more than 400 business leaders and managers who were all on hand to witness the announcement of Queensland's best managers.

MEA history was also made this year with the announcement of the inaugural National Young Manager of the Year category which featured finalists from Queensland, New South Wales and the Northern Territory.

The prestigious title was taken out by Lee Staddon from Birch Carroll and Coyle Cinemas in Mackay. AIM National Management Excellence Awards Manager Katrina Arch said the 2012 MEA campaign was a tremendous success.

"The quality of the candidates has been truly exceptional this year and we hosted more guests from across the regions at the gala final than ever before," Ms Arch said.

"We had people from Mackay, Townsville and Cairns all travelling to Brisbane to support their managers and their presence added a real sense of community spirit to the night.

"Without the support of our generous sponsors in Queensland and the Northern Territory awards programs such as this could not exist and we thank them for support and look forward a long and successful partnership."
