Be merry and stay motivated
The year is winding up and your staff's focus, which should be squarely on sealing the final deal, is morphing rapidly into Festive-Season mode.
December is one of the most unproductive months of the year and an annual challenge for managers who are trying to keep their staff motivated for one final surge toward the summit instead of pondering pool-decks and pina coladas.
And while the team's focus might be skewed toward sun and sand, there are proven strategies that managers can put in place to keep the staff's focus trained firmly on the job at hand.
Australian Institute of Management - Qld & NT Chief Executive Officer Vivienne Anthon FAIM said maintaining staff motivation in the lead-up to the Christmas break was challenging but achievable.
Ms Anthon has spent years in senior management roles. Her tips and advice have been honed over many years of successful leadership.
"It's paramount that businesses remain productive right up until the end of the year," Ms Anthon said.
"That can be tough, especially for some businesses that may have experienced a challenging year but there are ways to ensure everyone is working at their peak until they take their leave."
